Landscape Technician Aide

This position will assist the Landscape Technician as needed with the lawn and grounds maintenance and snow removal on campus. This is a part-time as needed position.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
Sustain walking as when string trimming, push mowing, salting walks, etc.
Sustain stooping, kneeling and reaching as when planting and mulching.
Must be tolerant of inclement weather conditions such as extreme cold, heat and humidity.
Must be tolerant of seasonal airborne particles.
Must be tolerant of vibration for lengthy period while mowing.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Assists with the mowing, weeding, planting, mulching and watering of nursery stock on campus during the mowing season.
Assists with the plowing, blowing, shoveling, of snow and salting of sidewalks during the winter season. Assists with selective pruning and hedge trimming.
Picks up debris in all the parking lots and grounds on campus.
Empties the outside trash receptacles on campus.
Completes other duties as assigned
Other Skills and Abilities:?Must be able to work flexible hours
Must be able to operate riding mowers
Must be able to operate snow removal equipment
Can respond to small mechanical repairs, when necessary
Knows safety regulations regarding the use of mechanical equipment
Required Education and/or Work Experience:?High School Diploma required.
Valid Ohio driver's license with no suspensions (must be able to pass MVR with College Insurance Carrier)

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
